Vivian Ortega is an internationally acclaimed recording artist, songwriter, and music producer. Her versatile music career began in 1999 as the lead vocalist for the Florida Army National Guard 13th Army Band. For eight years, Vivian toured extensively, performing regularly throughout the state for hundreds of community events and official State functions including the Florida Governor’s Inauguration, and before many important dignitaries such as the President of the United States.
In her eight years of service in the military, Vivian reached the rank of Staff Sergeant and received many awards and honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Florida Commendation Medal.
 
Over the years, Vivian has worked professionally with a wide range of major recording artists including: Dionne Warwick, Rita Moreno, Gloria Estefan, Alejanda Guzman, Myriam Hernandez, Fonseca, Alvaro Torres, Diego Torres, Beto Cuevas, Omar Alfanno, Victor Manuelle, Cristian Castro, José José, Jon Secada, Dave Grusin, Bruce Hornsby, Steve Miller, Ricky Skaggs, Patti Austin, Monica Mancini, Will Lee, Eliane Elias, Claudia Acuña, Kevin Mahogany, Carmen Bradford, Tierney Sutton, and Ira Sullivan. Vivian has toured internationally and has performed on worldwide television specials and at major events like the Billboard Latin Music Awards, the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame La Musa Awards, and the International Association of Jazz Education (IAJE) Conference. Vivian is a five-time DOWNBEAT Award winner and a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (LARAS).
